WIMB #1

Now I love watching videos on YouTube (in fact I think I am obsessed) and I especially love watching 'What's In My Bag?' videos - they are one of my absolute favourites. Call me nosey, but I just like seeing what people carry in their bags and what their essentials are.
However, this 'what's in my bag' post is going to be a little different. During the bank holiday weekend I went on a little road trip to Bournemouth with my sister and cousin, so I thought I would show you a 'What's In My Bag - Bournemouth Edition!!' - haha!
1. My purse/wallet - My purse is by Guess, I am not too sure what the actual name is, but I have had it for nearly two years and it still looks brand new.
2. Sunglasses - a huge essential, especially if you're going to the beach. My sunglasses are from Topshop which I have had for nearly 6 years(!) and it's perfectly fine.
3. Sunscreen - another essential. The one I have been using is the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sun Lotion with SPF 15. It does have that sunscreen smell but it does the job.
4. Caudalie Eau De Raisin Moisturising Spray - I find this to be a cheaper alternative to the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, which I also have, but this spray is perfect to refresh and calm your skin after you have been in the sun all day.
5. Carex Moisture Plus Hand Gel - this is definitely an essential for everyone's bag.
6. Soap & Glory Hand Food -  This is one of my favourite hand creams, it moisturises so well without feeling greasy afterwards.
7. Glasses - a definite essential because I would not be able to drive without my glasses since I am slightly short-sighted, I mean I can see without my glasses but everything is just blurry for example, if you were to spot me on the street I would not recognise you if I did not have my glasses on (trust me, this has happened plenty times before).
8. Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream (30ml)- this is another favourite, I do not know why I have two hand creams but I obviously needed it on the day.
9. Ralph Lauren - Ralph - this is my favourite perfumes of all time. It is not so over powering that it makes you feel sick, it is just very refreshing and it lingers perfectly on your skin. At the end of the day, I can still smell it on my clothes, a huge plus in my books!
10. L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Stain Splash in Romy (102) - this is works perfectly as it is great to top up during the day if needed, but I found that I did not really need to top it up. It's definitely one of my favourite lip products.

As for the bag that I took to Bournemouth, it was just a simple black leather (fake obviously!) cross body bag from River Island which has gold accents. I chose this because it works perfectly as a day bag and you can take off the strap to use it as a clutch if you were to go out at night, which I did.
It was so handy to use, instead of taking a huge beach bag and carrying that all day.

What did you do on the bank holiday?
I just simply relaxed on the beach and got my tan on, since uni is officially over and summer is now here!!

Love Always,
Mandeep

MAC HOT NIGHTS BLUSH

I am not much of a 'blush person' however after looking at the new MAC Temperature Rising Collection for Summer 2013, I knew instantly that I wanted it! I went into my local MAC store and swatched every single item from the whole of the collection. The back of my hand was looking a little crazy, especially when I did not have anything to wipe it off with so my hand looked like I had a rainbow spit on me, no joke!
In the end I brought two eyeshadow quads, which are called 'Bare My Soul' (which you can read here) and 'Temperature Rising' (which you can also read here) and a blush.
There are two blushes in the collection, one is a peachy blush called 'Ripe for Love', the only reason I did not buy it was because I am not very fond of peach blushes and the other is called 'Hot Nights', which is the blush I did buy.
So today, I thought I would show you the last item I brought from the collection.
'Hot Nights' is a bright pink, which is highly pigmented, as you can see from the photos above. It does say it is FROST however I feel as if it is more of a satin finish.
As I said, it is highly pigmented so you will need to be very very light handed with this blush, I simply just dabbed my Real Techniques blush brush and it was more than enough for both of my cheeks.
As for the packaging for this blush, it reminds me of the NARS packaging. The only difference is that it is bronze in colour and not black. The packaging it self is not 'wow' but I still do like it.

MAC 'Hot Nights' Blush retails for £19.00, it still is on the website however I have a feeling that it will be sold out soon. Be sure to check your local MAC store as they may have it in stock.

Love Always,

MAC TEMPERATURE RISING QUAD

MAC have recently released their new Summer collection for 2013, which is called Temperature Rising. Like I have said in a previous post, I have not seen a MAC collection that has really stood out to me and that has made me want to buy it, until now.
I brought both of the eyeshadow quads, which are called 'Bare My Soul' and 'Temperature Rising'. I have already done a blog post on 'Bare My Soul' which you can read here, but today I thought I would show you the other eyeshadow quad I picked up, 'Temperature Rising'.

The 'Temperature Rising' eyeshadow quad includes four shades, which are:
1. Performance Art, which is a dusty pinkish mauve colour that has gold shimmer running through it - VELUXE PEARL
2. Temperature Rising, which is a peach colour that has a frosty sheen to it - LUSTRE
3. Swelter, which is dusty lilac colour that has a slight sheen to it - FROST
4. Beautymarked, is a blackish brown that has purple shimmer running through it - VELVET

As for the packaging for this eyeshadow quad, it is a matte bronze which has a rubber-y feel to it, it kind of reminds me of the NARS packaging. The packaging it self does not have the 'wow' factor to it like other MAC collections have previously had, but nevertheless, I still like it.
From all of the colours in this quad I really like 'Performance Art' and 'Swelter', it is perfect to just use as an all-over-the-lid colour. As for 'Beautymarked' it is a little more difficult to blend however, I have been using it to line my eyes, it really makes a difference and it changes up my make up look a little. The only disappointment of this whole quad was 'Temperature Rising' but I think I can make it work, somehow!

Temperature Rising Eyeshadow Quad retails for £38.50 and it is already sold out online! So check your local MAC store to see if they have it in stock.

MAC BARE MY SOUL QUAD

MAC have recently released their new Summer 2013 collection called Temperature Rising. The past few collections from MAC have not really stood out to me until I saw this collection. I brought a few things and I thought I should do a little product review of the items I brought.

The first product that stood out to me was the 'Bare My Soul' Eyeshadow Quad.

(one swipe, natural light)

Bare My Soul includes four shades, which are:
1. Romantico, is a light taupe colour that has a silvery pearl finish - VELUXE PEARL
2. Bare My Soul, is a gold/bronze which has gold shimmer running through it - LUSTRE
3. Friendly, is a brown which has kind of a coppery shimmer running through it - VELUXE PEARL
4. When In Rio, is a blackish green which has kind of has frost green sheen to it - FROST

As for the packaging for this eyeshadow quad, it is a matte bronze which has a rubber-y feel to it, it kind of reminds me of the NARS packaging. The packaging it self does not have the 'wow' factor to it like other MAC collections have previously had, but nevertheless, I still like it.
From all of the colours in this quad I really like 'Romantico', it is perfect to just use as an all-over-the-lid colour. As for 'When In Rio' it is a little more difficult to blend however, I think this will look really pretty with those who have brown eyes, as it will just make your eyes stand out a little more. I think 'Friendly' would look nice in the crease and 'Bare My Soul' would be a nice inner corner highlight.

Bare My Soul Eyeshadow Quad retails for £38.50 and it is already sold out online! So check your local MAC store to see if they have it in stock.

TOP 10 SPRING NAIL PICKS - 2013

This month has truly been weather confused. One day it was snowing and the next the sun was shining bright...typical London weather! (This literally happened guys!)
Since it is supposed to be Spring and I want it to hurry up and come along, I have decided to show you my top 10 picks for Spring.
Considering I have A LOT of nail polish, choosing 10 was a real struggle for me, but these have been the polishes that I have gravitated towards a lot and I know I will continue to use this season.
1. Models Own - Peach Puff - is a peachy nude colour which has a creme finish.
2. OPI - Pink Friday - is a bright pastel pink which also has a creme finish. Pink Friday was a part of the Nicki Minaj collection for OPI last year so I am not sure if it will still be in stores however there are dupes out there for this polish.
3. The oh so famous Essie - Bikini So Teeny - everyone and their mother has this polish, I am sure of it. I did a Manicure Monday post on this nail polish which you can read here.
4. Sally Hansen - Lavender Cloud (410) - is a very very very light purple which has a creme finish. In fact it is so light that it almost looks white.
5. Sally Hansen - Buttercup - is one of my favourites. Buttercup is a pastel yellow which has a creme finish, it definitely reminds me of a buttercup. Now I do not own many yellow nail polishes since they look odd on my nails, but I like this one.
6. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Prickly Pear - I have already done a Manicure Monday post on this nail polish which you can read here.
7. Ciate  - Pocket Money (107) - Is a darker nude colour which has a creme finish. This was free in the May 2013 Marie Claire magazine and I really like it.
8. OPI - Stranger Tides - Again, I have already done a Manicure Monday post which you can read here.
9. Essie - Cascade Cool - is also from Essie's Summer 2012 Collection, it is a blue toned pink which has a creme finish, I really like this on my nails.
10. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Lychee - is also a nude colour which has a creme finish, one coat is all you need!

As you can see from this post, the majority of my picks are pastels or they have a creme finish, they just seem a lot more appropriate for Spring. I will have swatches of all these polishes up in the next few weeks for my Manicure Monday posts so stay tuned.
What are your Top 10 Spring Nail Polishes? I would love to know!

Love Always,
Mandeep
