CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIP CHEAT

If you saw my previous post, then you would have seen that I brought the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow when Selfridges had 10% off all beauty. I also picked up two of the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats Re-Shape & Re-Size Lip Liner in Pillow Talk and Pink Venus.
Pillow Talk was probably the one I wanted the most, I would say it is a nude with muted pink undertones. Now I do not have the most biggest lips in the world, in fact they are quite small and so I have a hard time finding a lip liner that will enhance my lips as much as it can without looking fake, and I think I have finally found it. It is not too pink, nor is it too nude. Infact I would say it is very close to my natural lip colour, and because of that it works well at making my lips look fuller.
Pink Venus is probably one that I would have never chosen if I did not see it in person, it is a peachy pink shade and it looks great when it is on the lips. I have worn this just by itself and I have never gotten so many questions as to what I was wearing on my lips before, it's definitely a favourite.
Although they both do not look like much on the pencil, when worn on the lips, they are really flattening. The CT Lip Cheat lip liners are incredibly rich and opaque, they are so creamy that they do not pull/tug at your lips but they last for a very long time (I found that after about 6-7 hrs it started to fade a little and that was with eating/drinking). It can accentuate any dry areas on your lips, but I found by just applying a rich lip balm and exfoliating before hand does the job.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW

Whenever I go into Selfridges, I always find myself eyeing up Charlotte Tilbury (not literally her, but her make up range!) and so when Selfridges had 10% off CT earlier this month, I took it as a sign to pick up a few things that I wanted. The first product I chose was the CT Filmstar Bronze & Glow, which essentially is a sculpting and highlighting duo. I know many people are going to think, 'O-M-G that's a lot of money for just a duo.' and to be honest, they are right BUT you have to believe me when I say, 'you need it in your life!!'
I mean, just can we just talk about the packaging, even the box is adorable!
And finally, the compact....#nowords
The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow comes in a gorgeous rose gold compact with a large mirror which is great for on the go use, plus it has a little star in the corner - it's all about the details! The Filmstar Bronze & Glow comes complete with a bronze which has some shimmer running through it, which is ideal for contouring and a highlight shade. When I first saw the 'sculpt' shade, I was a little surprised, I thought that it would be a lot more cooler/grey in tone but then I applied it on my cheeks and I instantly had cheekbones. ! I'm not one for contouring on a regular basis since it can look a little fake but when I do, I typically go for a matte bronzer since it's easier to create a shadow on the cheeks but even then I can never seem to get it right, I don't know how CT does it, but it's practically fool proof!
As for the highlight shade, which is a pale gold champagne shade, I though it might look a little too frosty, especially because when I first swatched it, it was so pigmented! However when applied on the face, it just creates the most beautiful glow. It really catches the light and does not emphasise any pores, which is great!
Unfortunately, my camera couldn't pick up the sculpt shade properly but you can still see it nonetheless. Even though the highlight looks very intense and frosty when swatched, I promise you that when applied with a brush it looks like you are glowing from within - haha!

P.S. I've redesigned my blog a little, it is not a huge difference but I think it looks a lot better (much cleaner and minimal), let me know what you think!

WIMB - EVERYDAY MAKEUP EDITION

I recently asked, on Twitter, if people still liked to read 'What's in my makeup bag' posts, and I got a few people saying that they do, and so I thought it would be interesting to show you all what I tend to wear on a daily basis.
I do not have a vanity table, so I do not exactly sit down and do my make up on a regular basis. I use a drawer in my chest of drawers which holds all my make up and perfumes and I actually prefer it like that. It's out of the way and it makes the top of the drawers a lot more cleaner, although I do store my make up brushes on top. So I store my 'everyday' make up in a bag which is easier to go through in the morning instead of having to rummage around in the drawer. I use a Ted Baker bag, which is one of my favourites since it is easy to wipe down if it was to ever get dirty, plus it has tiny little French bulldogs on it which makes it even better! - fyi I'm a dog lover, haha!
One of the new additions to my make up bag is the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in Sandstone, it is a gorgeous highlight and I have also used this as an eyeshadow too. Another highlight product is the Kevyn Aucoin the creamy duo in #4, this is a cream product and although it might not look like anything in the pan, it looks stunning on the high points of your face, plus as it is a duo, I use the sculpting product to contour with, it is very easy to blend out and provides enough definition to the cheekbones.
For blush, I have been obsessed with the NARS blush in Douceur, ever since I heard it was being discontinued, I took it out of my collection and I have been wearing it for the past couple of weeks, it is a great everyday shade. Another blush is the MAC mineralize blush in Talk of the Town, and when swatched it is an intense and glittery however, when applied with a brush, the glitter is no where to be seen and it creates a nice glow to your cheeks. For my brows, I have been using MAC eyeshadow in Brun, which is a great shade for my brows, since they are fairly dark, also the duo contains MAC Soba eyeshadow which I do occasionally use on my lids when I want a little something.
The Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent is my favourite setting powder, I have had this for over a year and even though I use it on an everyday basis, I have finally hit pan on it. The KIKO Golden Game sculpting duo has been my favourite ever since I picked it up last year, the bronze shade has been my go to for bronzer, it is not orange nor is it muddy, it's perfect!
The NARS Radiant Creamy concealers have been my favourite ever since I picked it up too, I have two shades, 'Custard' which I use under my eyes to help brighten the area up a little and 'Ginger' which I use on any blemishes I may have. It is full coverage but not cakey at all. I also use the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer however, I finished it last week and I need to pick up another soon. For brows, even though I use MAC Brun, some days I do not have time to fuss around with powder so I use the Soap & Glory Archery brow pencil in 'Hot Chocolate', it has a spoolie on one end and a very fine nib on the other side, it is a great waxy pencil. I also use the Miss Sporty clear mascara to set everything in place but again, I'm out of that and I need to pick up another.
For mascara, I have been using Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes mascara, I can't say much about it so far, but it is a great lengthening mascara. I also have my trusty MAC Blacktrack Fluidline gel eyeliner, this has been my favourite for years, it stays in place and does not fade. I have also been using the Kat Von D tattoo liner in 'Troopa', which is a great no fuss liquid liner, I always reach for this when I'm in a rush. I have two pencil eyeliners, the first is a mini Marc Jacobs Beauty highliner in 'Blacquer', which is just a black eyeliner but it lasts all day. Sometimes black can be a little too intense and so I have been using the Stila smudge stick waterproof eyeliner in the shade 'Oscar Fish' which is a sparkly brown shade, however when applied on the lash line, you cannot really see the sparkle.
Finally for lips, I have a handful that I tend to reach for. The first are the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylos, I have #5 and #6, both of which are great everyday nude shades. However if I want something a little darker, I reach for MAC lipstick in Twig, it is a darker '90s' shade, another alternative is the NARS lip pencil in Descanso, it is the one shade that will look great with any eye look. If I want some colour on my lips I have been using the new Maybelline Color Drama lip pencils, these are very comparable to the NARS lip pencils, I have the shade 'Fuchsia Desire' which is a bright pink and the shade 'In With Coral' which is a bright coral shade, both of these look amazing on.

In terms of make up brushes, I have a little pot of my everyday brushes that I reach for and as for tools, I do keep my Shu Uemura eyelash curlers in my bag too, I have had these for almost 3 years now and they still work like they are brand new.

LIP PRODUCTS FOR THE COLDER MONTHS..

With the weather getting a lot colder here in the UK, I have been reaching for lip balms a lot more, and so today I thought it would be interesting to show you all, my favourite lip products for the colder months. Ranging from all different price points, the cheapest and much more affordable from the bunch is an old classic and my all time favourite lip balm, Carmex. Like it says on the tin, it soothes, moisturises and relieves your lips, I cannot recommend it enough. I have used this for years and it has never failed me. Next up are the Maybelline Baby Lips. I actually have a love hate relationship with these, even though they provide some colour and moisturise to your lips, I feel like they kind of smell like play dough - or is that just me? Nevertheless, these are still great lip balms if you want some colour to your lips, I really like the 'cherry' shade.

Following closely are the Burt's Bees replenishing lip balms, I have the scent pomegranate and acai berry, both of which smell nice and actually do nourish your lips. I used to use these all the time before the Maybelline Baby Lips came out. A cult favourite is the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm. I first brought this when I went to Paris, way back in 2013 and I always pull it out during the colder months. It repairs and nourishes your lips, whilst it also relieves and comforts your dry and chapped lips. I also find that it removes any flakiness  when you first apply it on your lips, which then restores the suppleness of your lips. The Nuxe Reve De Miel also has a matte finish which is great if you prefer that in your lip balm, plus it has a really nice citrus scent to it.

Lastly, the most expensive and probably the most unnecessary lip balm from the bunch is the Dior Addict lip glow. I purchased this towards the end of last year and whenever I take this out of my bag, I feel ever so fancy. Although this is expensive for what it is, I really like it. It Dior Addict lip glow adapts to your lips, which then creates an unique colour and on me it turns into a bright just-bitten pink, which I can actually pull off!

HOURGLASS FEMME NUDE LIP STYLOS

Throughout the festive season, I realised a few things. The first, no matter what, I always prefer a nude lip over any other shade and the second, I never reapply my lipstick when I am out - am I the only one? I also realised that I have never done a blog post on my favourite Hourglass nude lipsticks.
The Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylos come in a retractable tube with a removable cap, it definitely looks and feels very sleek and fancy whenever I use it, it is also quite weighty so Hourglass has definitely not skimped out on packaging. It is also perfect to use on the go since they do not need to be sharpened. They also actually last quite a long time on my lips, which is very surprising and they also do not make me feel uncomfortable that I feel like I have to remove my lipstick.
The Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylos are my favourite go-to lip products whenever I want to wear a nude lip. They have six shades from the bunch and all are very wearable and do not look like you've just smeared concealer all over your lips. They are all pink in tone and to be honest, that is what makes them all wearable and much more natural on your lips. I have the shade Nude #5 and Nude #6, both of which look similar in the bullet however when swatched and applied to your lips, they are really quite different.
As you can see from the swatch above, Nude #5 has some shimmer running through it and is a nude peachy pink, whereas Nude #6 is a mauvey pink and it no shimmer running though it. These lipsticks contain Vitamin E, which help to nourish and moisturise your lips, however I have to say that whenever I apply these lipsticks, they do not really nourish my lips but I have noticed that they do not dry my lips out, which most lipsticks tend to do. However some people have said that these dry out their lips, maybe that's something to consider?
With six different shades to choose from to create a dramatic nude or a defined nude, there is something suit everyone's mood and I cannot recommend them enough.

BOBBI BROWN SHIMMERBRICK IN SANDSTONE

When I picked up the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in Copper Diamond, I also picked up the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in Sandstone, after lusting for it for the past couple of months.
Like all shimmer bricks, Sandstone has five different shades, which range from champagne to bronze to rose gold and to a dark brown, which is unlike Copper Diamond which has more gold shades in the compact. BB shimmer bricks are multi functional, in the sense that it can be used as a highlight when using each shade individually or together, but it can also be used an eyeshadow. Here are each strip swatched individually:
As you can see, each strip is very pigmented and it is very shimmering, as the name suggests. Here is a swatch of all the shades swatched together:
Sandstone is a gorgeous browny champagne shade and although it is very pigmented when swatched, it can be sheer out to create beautiful glow on your cheeks. In terms of packaging, I expect no less with BB, it is beautifully packaged and as Sandstone is limited edition, it has a lovely dark green and black tortoise/marble-like pattern and with 10 grams of product, I don't think I will be finishing this any time soon. Unfortunately, I cannot find Sandstone anywhere online but I picked this up at the Bobbi Brown counter in John Lewis in Westfields, and there were quite a lot still there.

TAKING IT FROM DAY TO NIGHT..

The amount of times I have to go out after a long day at University is a little bit ridiculous. I normally have 10 minutes to get ready and I have to say, that I think I have it down to a T, so I thought I would show you all what I do to 'spice things up a little' when I only have 10 minutes before I have to leave the house.
1. Smoke it out. I do not wear eyeshadow on a daily basis, so I tend to reach for a darker shadow and apply it in the crease, I also add a lighter shade in the inner corner to help brighten things up a little, my go to and fail-safe palette is the NARS And God Created The Woman palette. Add some black liquid eyeliner, curl your lashes (or even add some lashes if you have time and you're a pro at applying them!) and ta da! Instant glam! My current favourite black pencil liner is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencil in Perversion, it is great to use on your tightline since it is so creamy but it also lasts all night long.
2. Glow like a disco ball. Well not literally but adding some highlighter to the high points on your face really does make a difference. I have two that I tend to reach for, the first being a cult favourite which is the MAC Soft & Gentle MSF or the YSL Touche √Člcat Radiant Touch highlighting pen, it makes you look like you've spent all day applying your make up but no one will know that you applied it in your car - haha!
3. Cover the odd blemish. I really don't like reapplying foundation so I grab a full coverage concealer, the one I have been loving recently is the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in custard (medium 1) and ginger (medium 2). I use the lighter shade to cover my dark circles and the deeper shade to cover any blemishes. It is not cakey and it is very easy to blend.
4. Add a dark lip. Pretty self explanatory. Adding a darker lip looks a lot more sultry and can really pull a look together. I have been loving the NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Cruella, it is a deep true red and whilst it is matte, it is not drying at all. Sometimes I feel that a dark lip can be a bit too much so I reach for a pink instead, my favourite is MAC Pink Pearl Pop!
5. Smell like a diva. Whilst some people focus on their make up, I think smelling nice is pretty important too, especially if you do not have time to have a quick shower - haha! After a long day on the train, I want to smell nice so I go for a perfume that has a long lasting scent, I mentioned a few of my favourites here, but one of my favourites is the STELLA by Stella McCartney perfume.

These are my five simple, quick and easy make up tips I use whenever I am in a rush to go somewhere after a long and tiring day. I also pop on my leather jacket and add a pair of heels to my outfit to make it look like I've tried when really all I want is to wrap myself in a blanket and watch some Netflix's, please tell me I am not the only one - haha!

THE ROUND UP | 2014

I know many people are going to say where has 2014 gone?!? And honestly, I am going to have to agree with them, 2014 literally flew by! Having said that, I found so many different new beauty products this year and so I thought I would show you all my favourite 14 products for the year of 2014.
I purchased the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream in October and I have been wearing it non stop since, if you liked the original Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume then you need to smell this. It is a more fresh and cleaner version of the original but it is not overpowering. I also decided to give in the hype and I brought the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, I have two shades, one in Custard (medium 1) which I use under my eyes to help brighten that area up a little and the second is Ginger (medium 2) which I use on any blemishes or red areas on my face. These concealers are high coverage but they are not cakey at all!
Sticking with NARS, I also brought two of products from the Christmas collection this year, the first is the Virtual Domination cheek palette, which is just a great on-the-go palette, I have been using the shade Deep Throat everyday since I brought it. I also picked up the NARS Digital World lip pencil coffret and whilst all the shades are lovely, I have been wearing Descanso and Torres Del Paine a lot more. For the majority of the year my go to blush has been the MAC Extra Dimension blush in Sea Me Hear Me, now even though this blush was limited edition I think all the MAC Extra Dimension blushes are brilliant.
This year I also discovered Bite Beauty since Sephora started to ship to the UK, I have posted two Sephora hauls here and here, if you want to have a read, but all of the Bite Beauty lip products I brought I have loved, they are all so creamy and pigmented, they are definitely worth the hype! I also discovered the Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper this year too, which literally lasts all day and does not budge. I also rediscovered my love for Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencils, I have used the shade Perversion to tightline and it works wonders, it lasts all day too! The Soap & Glory Archery Brow pencil has been my favourite brow product to use this year, it is a great dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz and I highly recommend it.
This year I also rediscovered lipliners, two have stood out to me this year and they are both by MAC. The first is MAC Soar which is one of my all time favourites and I don't know why I stopped using it, the other is MAC Subculture is a great all round nude lipliner. This year I came across KIKO and the Daring Game collection was just gorgeous! I picked up the Golden Game sculpting bronzer in the shade precious sienna (02) from the collection and this was the only bronzer I used for the rest of the year, it is not muddy nor does it make you look orange, it is the perfect shade. In terms of skincare, I found that two masks stood out to me this year, the first is the hyped up, but worth it, GLAMGLOW masks. I have two from the whole range, the first is the SuperMud Clearing Treatment, which draws out all the oils and impurities from your skin, and the second is that YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment, which is a scrub and mask in one. I found that any under the surface bumps I had disappeared when I used these masks, yes they are very expensive for a mask but they are worth it.The REN Clarimate Invisible Pores Detox mask, is very similar to the GLAMGLOW SuperMud mask in terms that it draws out any impurities from your pores, but I found with this mask your pores are visibly reduced and my skin has never felt smoother - definitely worth picking up!
The HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light was the first and currently is the only powder I have from the range, and whilst it does not look special in the pan, it creates a really nice glow to your skin but it does not make you look like a disco ball. I apply this under my eyes and on any high points and it instantly makes my skin look healthy and like it is glowing from within. Definitely worth the money!

Also, I was lucky enough to be contacted by VoucherCodes, who currently have an offer where you can 20% off your first order** on LookFantastic, which I have to say, is pretty fantastic - haha!
2014 was the year of me going out of my comfort zone and experiencing new things. I got to see Justin Timberlake live, and he laughed when he saw my cousin and I screaming like little girls (never thought I would be like that!). I also went to Vegas for my cousins hen and that was an experience in of itself - what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! What did you do in 2014?

BOBBI BROWN SHIMMERBRICK IN COPPER DIAMOND

Bobbi Brown's Holiday collection is always a stunner every year, and this year there were no exceptions. As much as I love BB, I have never tried her shimmer bricks, and so when I saw the Copper Diamond shimmer brick, I knew I wanted it and if you follow me on Twitter, then you would have seen that I picked it up.
So like all other shimmer bricks, it contains five shades with a gradient effect. Copper Diamond has an overall gold tone to it, which is very wearable.
Copper Diamond is a gorgeous gold shade and although it is very pigmented when swatched, it can be sheer out to create beautiful glow on your cheeks. In terms of packaging, I expect no less with BB, it is beautifully packaged and as Copper Diamond is limited edition, it has a lovely brown tortoise/wood-like pattern along with some gold accents, whereas the original shimmer bricks come in the usual BB black compact.

A/W PERFUME PICKS - 2014/2015

Happy New Year! It is officially Winter here in London, and because it has gotten so cold, I have noticed that I am reaching for 'wintery' perfumes lately. Now I love perfume, it is one of my favourite beauty products and so I thought I would show you all my current top five favourite 'winter' perfumes for this current season.
One of my favourites is the Stella McCartney Stella perfume. Now I am not one for rose scented things, I am not a fan however I was surprised that I actually really like this perfume. It has a mix of rose, mandarin and musky amber and I always get compliments whenever I wear this. It lasts for the longest time and unlike most perfumes, I can still smell this at the end of the day. If you are looking for a new perfume that is a cult favourite, then this is the one.
Winter for me means dark and mysterious and so whenever I go out at night, the Dior Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle has been one I have been reaching for. I did not think I would actually like this scent but I brought this for my mum last year when I was in Paris, and whilst at the time I was not a huge fan, it has definitely grown on me. It just smells so sultry but it is not so musky that it will give you a headache. An alternative is the Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted perfume, I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift and so when she released a perfume line I was a little excited. Again, this is a little woody and has hints of vanilla once it has been on the skin for a while and so it is perfect for the evening. If you are not a fan of either perfumes then a classic perfume is the Jimmy Choo perfume, which is also a cult favourite. It is not too floral nor too fruity but just has that perfect mix, it is a little woody but it is perfect for the evening too. A new discovery and a new release this year is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume, it is a fresh take on the original Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume and whilst it is a little floral and fruity it has been one I have been reaching for to wear during the day.
I have been eyeing up a few Jo Malone perfumes lately but since there are so many scents I have no idea which one to choose from, but I do have quite a lot of perfumes so my resolution this year is to half my collection by the end of the year, pretty doable if you ask me. What have you been reaching for this season?
