MAC | WASH AND DRY SUMMER COLLECTION 2015

Okay, I have a problem. A MAC problem to be more specific. Ever since I saw the promo photos for this collection, I knew I wanted it. Last week, on Thursday I received an email from MAC and I instantly jumped on my laptop and made an order. As soon as I was done, the majority of items were sold out. I picked up four products from the entire collection, so I didn't go mad but I'm glad I picked these up.
The first product I knew I wanted was one of the lipsticks, I initially wanted Creme d'Nude but I remembered that it does not suit me at all #concealerlips so I skipped that and I brought Tumble Dry instead. This is a peachy orange shade that has a sheer finish, and that's one of the things I like about this product. As much as I want to wear brighter lipsticks, I just can't and so I prefer to use sheerer lipsticks. This is a lustre so it has a sheen to it too.
The next thing I picked up was the new Studio Sculpt Defining Bronzing Powder in Delicates. This is a new product from MAC and whilst some people are not very fond of it, I actually like it! It is not as intense as it may seem in the pan but I like how it can be built up on the skin. Delicates is a medium dark brown shade that does have a golden sheen to it however on the skin, this just looks amazing! Think NARS Laguna but without the shimmer and instead having a satin finish.
The next item I got was the High-Light powder in 'Freshen Up'. This is a tri-coloured powder that has a gold overspray. I know some people are upset that it has an overspray but honestly, it doesn't matter to me. It has a deeper coral shade, along with a lighter orange and a yellow-y beige. Swirled altogether and this looks amazing! I definitely will not be wearing this altogether as a highlight, but I think using the lighter shade as a highlight might work?
The last product I brought was a blush. I got the shade 'Hipness' and the camera does not pick up this shade at all, it looks a lot darker in the photos above but in person, it is one/two shades lighter. It is pinky coral that has a matte finish to it.
As you can see, all of these shades just scream summer to me, plus the packaging is amazing! If I was to choose one thing from the collection, it would probably be the bronzer, but that's because I'm on a bronzer kick at the moment but the darker lip shades look amazing too!

BLACK ON BLACK ON BLACK

It is no surprise I enjoy wearing eyeliners. It was the first ever make up product I brought and I still love wearing them to this day. I thought it would be interesting to show you all of the black eyeliners I have in my 'collection'. I do not have a lot of black eyeliners, since I don't feel like I need to try every single one on the market, but I do have a few that I love.
Black eyeliners for me, is something I use when I want my eyes to be the main focus of my entire look - which is pretty much everyday since I don't really switch up my make up on a daily basis. Even though black eyeliners can be a little too harsh, I think if it is applied correctly, it can look timeless. So as you can see, I have six eyeliners (some of which are from my Sephora haul) and even though it can seem excessive, I adore all of these eyeliners.
One of my all time favourites is the (mini deluxe) YSL Dessin Du Regard eye pencil in Black Ink (01). This is a very intense and creamy black eyeliner. I think this was one of the first products I brought from YSL and since it is waterproof, it lasts for a very long time on the waterline. Next up are the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. I have been obsessed with these eyeliners for a very long time now and for a good reason too! They are incredible creamy and very easy to work with. I have the shades Perversion (full size) and Zero (mini deluxe), and as you can see from the swatches above, Perversion is a lot more intense than Zero is. These are very easy to blend and once it dries, they will not budge at all.
The NARS Larger Than Life longer eyeliner in Via Veneto (mini deluxe) is a new discovery for me. I have heard a lot about this shade but I never tried it until recently. It is a retractable eyeliner so it is great to use on the go plus it has a built in sharpener. It is super creamy, like all the other pencils I have and it is smudge proof too. Another new discovery is the Sephora Collection Contour eye pencil in Black Lace (01) (mini deluxe), I didn't think much of it when I first brought it but I was definitely proved wrong. It is waterproof, so it lasts for ages on the waterline and it has a matte formula! This is great since sometimes I do not want my eyeliner to have a 'glossy' finish to it and you can tell how much I have used it, since it is nearly finished!
Finally, the last eyeliner is no surprise for many of you since I do rave about it, here on my blog. It is the Marc Jacobs Highliner gel crayon in Blacquer (mini deluxe), there are no words to describe this eyeliner except from it is amazing! It is a retractable pencil so there is no need to use a sharpener. It is very creamy and it really does last all day on my eyes. The one thing I really like about this eyeliner is that it has a gel like finish, in the sense that because it is so smooth, does not tug on the skin and it is highly pigmented.

I currently do not have any 'drugstore' black eyeliners since I don't really buy eyeliners regularly, but when I have finished these I will definitely buy a few, since there are some great ones out at the moment. Which are your favourite eyeliners to use?

THE ROUND UP | APRIL 2015

This month was the most of rediscoveries for me. I rediscovered one of my favourite bronzers and mascara! Now I mentioned in a previous post that I was liking the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara and in fact, I even mentioned it in my last monthly favourites. However, after using it for a while I noticed that it wasn't doing much for my lashes, it did provide some length but I was not 'wow-ed' by it anymore. I decided to have a look through my stash and I found an old favourite of mine which is the Benefit BAD gal lash mascara. This has the typical fat wand so it really does add volume to your lashes and both of these mascaras are amazing together! I get the volume I want, along with the length I need.
Another favourite this month is by Benefit (again!) and it is their balms. I purchased Lollibalm last year and I have used it non-stop ever since. I picked up two more shades, ChaChabalm (an orange shade) and Posiebalm (a pinky coral), both of which go hand in hand with the tints. Normally I forget to apply something on my lips in the morning so I have been keeping these in my bags and they are great to touch up on the go. Since they are sheer, I don't need a mirror to apply them but they add a nice wash of colour to your lips whilst also hydrating your lips.
Another Benefit product is the well known and much needed Hoola bronzer. This is a matte bronzer and it is the perfect shade since it does not look muddy or orange on the skin. I have been applying this all over my face to add some colour back into my skin and it just makes me look like a bronzed goddess - haha! It is great as a contour shade too since it has no shimmer in it, unlike the NARS Laguna bronzer (which I have hit pan on!). To go with my whole 'bronzed goddess' look, I have been reaching for my new Clinique Cheek Pop blush in Peach Pop, I mentioned it and have shown swatches here. The formula of this blush is amazing, it is baked but it feels like a cream and it blends amazingly into the skin, plus it lasts practically all day!
For my nails, I mentioned in a previous post my top five favourites from spring and in there, I showed the Nails Inc nail polish in Holland Park Gardens, which is a pastel sage green. Now I'm normally not one for green nail polishes but there is something about this shade that I can't get enough of, in fact this is the only shade that I have been wearing all month!
As much as I love make up, I love skincare even more. I love trying out new cleansers, masks and exfoliators so this much. The Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil has been my go to this month. I tried it in Vegas last year and I loved it. I remember picking one up but I thought I forgot it in my hotel room, however it was not until this month when I found it (unopened and still in the Sephora bag of course) in my suitcase! Needless to say, I was so excited (I even found a few other beauty products still in my suitcase from Vegas!) and I have been using it everyday since. It is an oil that you apply to dry skin and in circular motions, you massage it into your skin and it breaks down your make up. It's as simple as that but I notice that my skin feels a lot more smoother and it even looks a lot more cleaner after I have used it. Plus since my skin is dry, I feel as if it helps to moisturise my skin too. If you have not tried this cleanser, then I suggest you do!
