THE BIRTHDAY GOODIES | SEPHORA HAUL #7

Hello everyone! The last couple of weeks have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to sit down and write a blog post. However, I have had time to make a little cheeky Sephora haul, so what better way to start blogging again then with a haul!
The first thing I added instantly into my basket was the Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip & Liner set. I have been eyeing up the Ciate Liquid Velvet in Voodoo for the longest time and when I saw that it was in this set, I knew I had to get it.

The box contains a large amount of deluxe sized lip products (10 including a lipliner) along with 4 full sized products. The only negative thing I can say about this box is that it contain a lot of red shades, and for someone who doesn't really wear red lipstick, I'm not that fussed over the products so expect a few items to be added to my blog sale/Depop.

I then saw the Estée Edit Flash Photo Kit, which contains two deluxe sized products of the Flash Photo gloss and the Flash Photo powder. I have been wanting to try the powder since the range came out and I kept putting it off, because I have so many powders and the idea of a sheer translucent powder that has a blue-hue to it, is just really interesting. It is supposed to instantly brighten the skin, and as it is a small compact, it's perfect to just throw in your bag. The Flash Photo gloss is supposed to have the same effect. It contains micro-pearls which have a blue tone, to help bring out the white from your teeth. I have yet to try these out but I'm definitely intrigued and I love the brand already, so it's a no brainer that I will enjoy using these products.
The Sol Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum cream has caught my attention from practically everyone I've spoken to. It is supposed to tighten and firm the skin, however I heard that it was incredibly moisturising and that is the reason why I decided to add it to my basket. I picked up the Brazilian Beauty on the Go set, as it just worked out to be the same price and in the set, it also contained the Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu lip butter, which is so hydrating that I do not need to reapply throughout the day! The bum bum cream has a blend of cupuaçu butter, coconut, açai and guaraná, which will help nourish and condition the skin.
As it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, I had a chance to pick up my birthday treat, so I settled with the FRESH set. The set contained the Soy Face cleanser, which is probably one of my favourite cleansers and the Rose face mask, which I have yet to try but it smells great!

I also picked up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Mario palette, which unfortunately is not available in the UK (and I don't think it will be coming over here any time soon!) however I feel like that needs an entirely separate post so be sure to keep your eye out for that. *spoiler - it's amazing!!*

Have you brought anything from Sephora lately? Apparently it's coming over to London soon so I think someone might need to hide my wallet!

ADD SOME PEP TO YOUR STEP | CLINIQUE PEPSTART RANGE

It's no surprise that I really like Clinique. In fact, my first 'big girl' moisturiser was from Clinique, which was the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (which is aimed for those who suffer from dry skin). I absolutely love the entire brand and their products, so when I saw the new additions to the Pep-Start range, I was excited.
I remember seeing the Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur moisturizer on a MUA's snapchat, and it instantly caught my eye. I wanted to know more about the product and straight away to started to research about the little blue tub. Unfortunately, it was only available in the States but it wasn't until a few months ago that the full range launched in the UK.
The Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur moisturizer is aimed at instantly blurring any imperfections on the skin, whilst not drying out the skin by adding hydration throughout the day. I find that it is not only a skincare product, but it also doubles up as a make up product, in the sense that I've been using this as a primer. As it has a matte finish to the skin, my foundation lasts longer throughout the day and I'm less shiny, however I only use this in my t-zone as I find that it can build up on the skin.

The Clinique 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser was probably the one product I was not that excited to use. I prefer exfoliating cleansers to contain larger granules, simply because I feel like it really works at getting rid of all of the impurities in the skin. But I was definitely proven wrong with this cleanser. It removes both dirt and impurities in the skin, whilst also removing dead skin cells and excess oil, whilst also providing a glow on the skin. I've been using this around 3 times a week and I've noticed a huge difference in my skin. It looks a lot more brighter and smoother. I definitely need to pick up a full size bottle soon!

Have you tried anything from the new Clinique Pep-Start range? I'm currently eyeing up the Clinique Pep-Start Hydrorush moisturizer, which sounds amazing!

CLEANSE + EXFOLIATE | NEW IN: BARE MINERALS SKINSORIALS

It's no surprise that I really enjoy using bareMinerals' skincare. This time last year, I picked up a bottle of the bareMinerals Mineralixirs facial cleansing oil and since then I have mentioned it in numerous posts like my favourite cleansing oils and even my best of 2015! So when I found out that bareMinerals brought out an entire new range of skincare (which also replaced their old skincare range) I was all for it!
Two products caught my eye instantly and the first being the bareMinerals Clay Chameleon transforming purifying cleanser. The reason being was the fact that it just changes colour! When first applied to the skin it turns from red, which is the Brazilian red clay, to white, as you blend it into the skin (see the picture above and below). From a clay to cream consistency, it helps to remove any impurities, dirt and grime. Now I do not use this to remove my make up (I tend to remove my eye make up with a different cleanser altogether) but for that extra step in order to double cleanse the skin, this is amazing for it!
The product I was most excited to use was the bareMinerals Mix. Exfoliate. Smooth. Now this is similar to the Dermalogica daily microfoliant, but it's better! The grains are bigger and the whole idea is to add it to your favourite cleanser. I love the idea behind this because sometimes my favourite cleanser is not really 'doing it for me' and I want something that will really get remove any impurities. In terms of texture, the only way I can describe it, is that it feels like salt.

I've been adding this with the Clay Chameleon cleanser and it's a dream team! The black rice grains and the sea salts from the exfoliator helps to remove dirt and grime from the skin, without stripping the skin. It also helps to encourage skin turnover, which is great considering it is now colder in temperature and any dry patches you may have, will disappear along with making your skin feel smoother, softer and just more vibrant!

Have you tried anything from the new bareMinerals Skinsorials range? I'm currently eyeing up the Butter Drench restorative cream, it just sounds amazing!!

BEAUTY BOXES THAT JUST KEEP ON GIVING | HUDA KATTAN X CULT BEAUTY

Cult Beauty have done it once again! I always look forward to their beauty boxes, in fact the first beauty box I brought was the Anna and Lily box and this box was a no brainer. I knew I wanted to get my hands on it. Not only had Huda Kattan designed the box herself, half of the products I have been wanting to try for a very long time! Priced at £95, the box contains five full size and two deluxe sized products, so whilst it is still pricey, it definitely contains products that are worth it.
First up is the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip clay cleanser (full size), which is one of Huda's favourites. I have yet to try this but I've had this on my list on products to try for months now. It is supposed to just pull everything out from your pores, so your skin feels super clean but not irritated or stripped. It is definitely the cleanser of choice if you were a lot of make up on a daily basis. Another item I've been wanting for ages are her eyelashes, in specific the Samantha #7's (full size). It just adds volume and length to your lashes, and they just look incredibly fancy! I cannot wait to bust these out!! One item I have not tried is the iBeauty Skin Brush 21 (full size), I have seen these types of brushes around everywhere (specifically the Artis brushes, which just look incredible!) and they just remind me of a toothbrush, but for your face! It is a Korean brand and is supposed to help apply your make up on effortlessly. I'm definitely interested in trying this out soon!
The Tata Harper Resurfacing mask (half size), has been a product that I've heard a lot of great things about but as I have very sensitive skin, I just haven't given it a try. Although it is said to suitable for all skin types (except the very sensitive!), it is supposed to just transform your skin. By containing pink clay, it will draw out any impurities, improve the appearance of enlarged pores whilst also refreshing your skin but not stripping it of it's natural oils. The Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in the shade medium (full size) is one of those holy grail products for most people. Now I tried the powder a few months ago, and it definitely gave me instant cheekbones but I've tried the cream version and that's amazing! I think this was probably the one thing I was very excited about in the entire box because it was the first thing I used and let me tell you, I was not disappointed!
Now Morphe is not a brand I have tried anything from. I've heard a lot about their brushes from other YouTubers and Bloggers and they look amazing! But their palettes just did not amaze me as much. Maybe it was because I have way to make eyeshadows that will last me a lifetime, or maybe it was that it just reminded me of those old school eyeshadow palettes that contained over a 100 different shades and weren't pigmented at all! I can safely say I have been proved wrong. When I swatched this palette (The Blushed Blush Palette 9B), oh my wow! It was so buttery soft and just blends into the skin effortlessly. With 9 different shades to choose from, there's a shade to suit everyone.

Lastly, we have the adorable Yu Ling Jade Roller (mini size), in the other box I brought it contained the full size of this roller and I was so excited. It just feels so soothing on the skin and I have noticed that this mini size roller fits perfectly under my eyes. My eyes tend to be a bit sore in the morning, especially if I had little to no sleep, but just by applying this on my eyes, it just calms it down. It takes less than 5 minutes out of my morning routine and it works miracles for my eyes. Plus anything in mini form is just amazing!

Did you manage to get your hands on the Huda Kattan x Cult Beauty beauty box??

CURRENT FAVOURITES | THE ROUND UP

I have no idea when I last wrote a monthly favourites post. I love writing favourite posts and reading them because I feel like it gives a better idea on what a person has really been loving the past month and why.
Starting off with fragrances, the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush EDP has been my go to scent this summer. I finally finished my Vera Wang Lovestruck perfume and whilst that is not quite the same as the MJ perfume, I was glad I managed to get rid of one perfume bottle (I have way too many!). With hints of pink grapefruit, rose and cedar wood, this is an amazing perfume that lasts on the skin for hours.
I've been loving the NARS Deep Throat blush (the second shade on the bottom row in the palette). It is probably my staple shade that I will forever have in my collection. It is less shimmery than Orgasm so it is very wearable and I feel like no matter how much I apply, I can never go overboard! I've had this NARS Guy Bourdin for years and whilst I should probably get rid of it (expiry dates and all that jazz!), the texture and consistency remains the same so I will continue to use until it changes.
I finally finished the NYX Matte liquid eyeliner and whilst that is an amazing eyeliner, I was ready for something new. I went through my back up products and came across the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eyeliner in Intense Black. I've had this product in my stash back when I purchased the Cult Beauty x Anna & Lily Box and whilst I really enjoyed using the brown version of this eyeliner, I've been wanting to try the black one for sometime now. I'm so glad they included this little gem in the box because it creates such precise cat eyes. For someone who is forever in a rush getting ready in the morning, this is perfect because I'm literally done in just one sweep.
The last make up product I've been using in the last couple of weeks has been the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot powder. With the weather being incredible hot and sticky, I've been carrying this around in my bag and as it has a mirror, I have been touching up on the go - which is a huge plus! As it is a translucent powder, it mattifies instantly and as it has no colour, I do not need to worry about it looking odd if I have a tan. Plus I have noticed that as it is so finely milled, it does not make you look cakey at all!
The last product I've been loving is the Benefit Total Moisture face cream. Ever since I was introduced to this moisturiser, I've been obsessed with it. My instantly feels plumper and smoother. I have no more dry patches and I do not break out. It's an amazing moisturiser if you suffer from dry skin (like myself) and I'm currently on my fourth jar - that's how much I love it!

THE INSTAGRAM ROUND UP | AUGUST & SEPTEMBER EDITION

First thing first, let's address the massive elephant in the room...yes, I've been away for what feels like months (but is actually a couple of weeks) but whenever I tried to sit down and write a blog post, I was stuck. Stuck with words that is. I had no idea what I wanted to write and talk about here on my blog, so I thought instead of forcing myself to write a pretty crappy post, I'd rather wait until I was back in the mood.

So I thought what better way to start blogging again, then to show you all what I've been up to in the last couple of weeks from a few posts from Instagram.

So that's pretty much it, the last couple of weeks consisted of drinking a lot of mojitos, new experiences and some old experiences like going to see Wicked in theatre for the second time and I'm pretty sure it's not the last! With my birthday in a couple of days, I'm officially back and be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up (I'm also trying to get back into the whole 'theme' thing. I don't know how long it will last - haha!)

OUI OUAI, OUI! | THE OUAI FINISHING CRÉME

“OUAI MEANS YES, IN THAT CASUAL, PARISIAN WAY. IT’S ABOUT SAYING YES TO REAL HAIR FOR REAL LIFE. AND TO LOOKING CHIC, NO MATTER HOW MANY FOLLOWERS YOU HAVE.”

Ouai (pronounced like 'way') is the new hair care range by Jen Atkin. Who is she? Jen is a hair stylist who has worked in the fashion industry for many years, and has worked along side celebrities like JLo, the Kardashians etc. I've seen this range all over Instagram, so I have definitely been interested in the range. To be honest, I'm not one who fusses over her hair, I know what my hair likes and I don't like to try new things, when it comes to my hair that is! But with it's aesthetically pleasing packaging that will look flawless on Instagram, I was intrigued. It finally landed in the UK last month, so I went straight to Selfridges after work and checked the range out. Whilst everything looked amazing, I decided to settle on one product and I brought the Ouai Finishing Créme.

It is a lightweight cream that helps to protect your hair from heat, whilst also smoothing your ends and adding some texture. I have dry ends and in the Summer, it tends to frizz up, causing the ends of my hair to either break off and/or just get tangled and knotty. I've been using this for the past couple of weeks (simply a pea size amount, a little goes a long way!) and my hair feels so soft. It no longer breaks and I feel like my hair really put this finishing créme to the test last week, when we had a huge heatwave, because my hair did not frizz up! I also love how I can run my fingers through my hair and it does not feel sticky nor does it look greasy. It also does not weigh down my hair, which is amazing!

The Ouai haircare range is now available at Selfridges and Cult Beauty! Have you tried anything from the range yet?? I'm actually eyeing up the Clean Shampoo, Dry Shampoo and Hair Oil!

VISITING THE MOTHERSHIP | THE SEPHORA HAUL #6

You know I you have a problem when I you ask other people to visit Sephora when they go to the States and when I you went yourself just 3 months ago! So I'm back again with another Sephora haul, but I thought it would be interesting to show you all what I picked up this time around, as two are new!
Starting off with skincare and a brand new product, I picked up the Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding mask. Now I've heard a lot about this mask so I definitely wanted to pick it up. It is a two part mask, which contains both black and white charcoal, that helps to cleanse and pull out any impurities in the skin. I reminds me a lot of the GlamGlow mask but less abrasive.
The last skin care product I picked up was the Boscia Luminizing black mask. Now this is a repurchase and it was not until I finished my tube, that I realised how much I loved using it. I tend to use it once every 1/2 weeks, and as it is a peel off mask, it is very easy to use. It instantly mattifies my skin and it pulls out any impurities I may have in my clogged pores. A definite holy grail product in my skincare routine.
A complete newbie in my foundation collection is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea water foundation. Now ever since this was released a few months ago, I have not stopped hearing great things about it! It is an incredibly light foundation, which provides full coverage. Now I am not normally an everyday-foundation-wearing girl but this is an exception. It is so light on the skin, that you cannot even feel it and it still looks like skin!
A repurchase is the Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum concealer in the shade Custard. This has become one of my favourite concealers for my under eye area. It instantly covers and brightens my dark circles, without looking cakey or settling into any fine lines. I can reapply throughout the day, and it doesn't look odd at all. A definite favourite.

I have yet to try the pudding mask but I'm really excited to give it a try. I'm thinking of dedicating a whole separate post for the Tarte foundation, so let me know in the comments if you would like to read that! Are you going to the States soon? What would you buy from Sephora??

4 THINGS: HIGHLIGHTERS FOR THE SUMMER

Can you remember a time before highlighting (aka strobing, which is basically the same thing!) or contouring was a thing? Yeah, me neither! I do not do the whole contour-your-face-so-it-looks-like-a-completely-different-shape simply because I cannot contour dramatically and it just looks ridiculous when I try, but the one thing I can do, is apply so much highlight that I look like a disco ball and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it! With Summer soon approaching (which seems impossible at the moment since it rains every single day!) I have been applying more highlight than usual, to fake that glow.
The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow is the most expensive from my picks. Whilst I love the sculpt side of the duo, the highlight is as equally amazing. With it being on a golden base, it can suit any skin tone. It does not look chunky on the skin and just looks like you are glowing from within. The BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlight was the one make up product I was really excited about last year. I signed up to the Sephora waiting list and as soon as it launched, I added it to my basket and after a few days, it was mine! Believe you me, when I say that this is so pigmented that you simply need to tap your brush in the pan and you instantly look like a disco ball. It is such an amazing and flattering highlight, even if you have pale or deeper skin, a must in everyone's make up bag!
The MAC Strobe Cream is, surprisingly, a new product for me. I picked this up a few weeks ago after a recommendation and I have been using it every single day. I like to mix this with my moisturiser for an all over glow and as it has an iridescent sheen, which does not contain chunky glitter, it just makes your skin look healthier.
Another cream based product I have been loving, especially during the warmer months, is the Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow Duo. Again, this has a contour side, which is great for subtle definition, but the highlight shade is amazing! I simply pat this on the high points of my cheek bones and it catches the light effortlessly. As it is a cream based product, it is great if you suffer from dry skin, like myself.

Which highlighters have you been loving for the warmer months? I feel like I need to pick up the Anastasia Beverly Hills illuminators and the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill palette, which contains Prosecco Pop *inserts all the heart emojis!*

NEW IN | H & M DOES HAIRCARE

H&M has always been one of my favourite stores. If I'm in need of something certain, they always have it in store. Their pieces are affordable and are pretty great quality for the price too! Now, I've heard about their new beauty range ever since it hit stores last year, but I never really paid attention until now. I went to H&M on Oxford Street last week and I decided to pick up a few things.
I never really spend money on hair care, I stick to what I know and to be perfectly honest, I not that bothered when it comes to my hair. I was definitely impressed by the H&M haircare range, specifically their Hit Refresh Dry Conditioner. I use dry shampoo religiously so a dry conditioner definitely caught my attention. The ends of my hair can sometimes be really dry and frizzy, so if I can apply a product that doesn't weigh it down, look greasy and feel sticky, then I'm all for it. I tried the tester in store and I couldn't help but continuously running my fingers through my hair. It instantly felt softer and just looked healthier.
The Do It All BB Cream is a leave in perfector, what does that mean? Well it is a leave in cream, which is perfect as it adds extra hydration to my dry ends. By applying it to wet/damp hair, it really has made a huge difference to my hair! The 3 - in - 1 formula contains keratin, to help with hair repair, avocado oil for nourishment and silk amino acids, which actually helps to reduce frizziness - and I can say I can see a difference!
The Get It Straight Smoothing Balm was probably the one product I picked up on a whim. I didn't think much of it but as I always have straight hair (curls are a distant memory for me, haha!). I've been straightening my hair for 10+ years now and I'd like to say that my hair is in pretty good condition considering, but there are times when it can look a little damaged/fried. The smoothing balm has made my hair look a lot more sleek and even healthier. My hair is naturally wavy/curly so through out the day, the front of my hair can start to curl and frizz up, but I've noticed that this product has helped a lot with preventing that! I put it down to the added vitamin B5 and anti-frizz ingredients. I apply this on damp hair and let my hair dry naturally, although you can blow dry your hair with this product. It adds texture but does not feel sticky.

I am currently eyeing up the Knot A Problem Hair Primer Spray but I should ideally finish all the hair products I have on the go at the moment. Have you tried anything from the range? Also, I'm thinking of writing a new 'what I use in my hair' post so let me know if you want to see that below!
